Located in downtown Fresno, Community Regional Medical Center is home to the Table Mountain Rancheria Trauma Center — the only Level I Trauma Center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. This designation means we’ve achieved the highest distinction verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Our trauma center is staffed 24/7 by surgeons board certified in surgery and critical care. Our team approach to caring for patients involves advanced practice personnel, nurses, respiratory, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists and speech therapists.

Community Education & Outreach

An important part of being a trauma center is educating the community on injury prevention. We do this through free outreach programs, including:

  • Matter of Balance. This prevention program empowers seniors by increasing confidence in everyday activity and reducing the fear of falling.

  • Impact Teen Drivers. For young drivers, this program is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of reckless and distracted driving.
  • Stop the Bleed. A national campaign that provides training in how to quickly stop blood loss.

Education for Providers

Our trauma center team educates healthcare professionals throughout the Central Valley in caring for trauma patients. This includes education for nurses and physicians, and overall education for rural healthcare facilities that might be the first to receive and stabilize injured patients.

Plus, our robust trauma research program offers many different areas of study. This research is published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national and international conferences to share results with other trauma practitioners and advance the knowledge of caring for trauma patients.

Trauma Survivors Network

We're proud to be a member of the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN), a program of the American Trauma Society. TSN is a community of patients and families looking to connect with one another and rebuild their lives after a life-altering injury. Joining this community can help ease the anxiety and frustration often experienced following a sudden injury and the resulting hospitalization.
